On July 17, the feast of the holy Carmelite martyrs of Compiegne, young volunteers with Tradition, Family, Property (TFP)—Louisiana gathered to begin a two-week tour to campaign against socialism throughout Louisiana and Texas.
TFP members call these tours caravans. They will be distributing flyers, doing rosary rallies and holding banners and signs at busy intersections to alert the public to the dangers of socialism. Saint Michael the Archangel is the patron of this caravan since he is the vanquisher of demons.

There are many reasons to be against socialism today. The socialistic, woke and cancel culture seeks to erase the memory of the Catholic discoverers and missionaries that brought Christian civilization to America. Socialist policies impose the redefinition of marriage. These social engineering policies even go so far as to punish people who refuse to use the preferred pronouns of “transgenders” who are confused about their identity.
Socialist hatred of Christian morality is found in efforts to groom young children at schools into accepting the LGBTQ+ agenda and in the usurping of parents’ rights by concealing the “gender-affirming care” of students.

The United States is teeming with people who have fled socialist regimes. Vietnamese, Venezuelans, Europeans, Central and South Americans, Africans and Cubans offer poignant testimony about the crippling policies that destroyed their homelands.

Many of these refugees say that “what is going on in America today is what happened to my country before socialism destroyed it.” To prevent this devastation, the caravan denounces the destructive nature of these socialist policies entering the nation.
No Time for a Benedict Option
The Saint Michael the Archangel caravan wants to drive home the idea that good men must rise up and engage in the debate for the nation’s soul. In times of crisis, God always raises heroes to fight back against decadent cultures. Whether they were the prophets of the Old Law or the saints of the New Testament, God expects the just to engage the culture and fight back against the “gates of Hell.” If Americans do not repudiate socialism, it will be one more country among a long list of others that were reduced to misery and self-demolition. This is no time for a Benedict Option.
