On January 22, 1974, the first March for Life was held on the West Steps of the Capitol. An estimated 20,000 committed pro-life Americans rallied that day on behalf of the unborn.

Unmasking the 0.99%For over twenty years, pacifist protesters have gathered at Fort Benning in mid-November to oppose the activities of the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (formerly called the School of the Americas) and demand its closure. In fact, this year’s march is also being called Occupy Fort Benning. Like their comrades in the Occupy Wall Street movement, the activists say they speak in the name of the “99%.” We ask: Who do they really represent?

The continuing debate over the debt ceiling raises matters of such a magnitude that it is easy to be overwhelmed and confused. Elementary economics teaches us that we cannot live beyond our means indefinitely. In this crisis of our own making, we must take extraordinary measures to insure not only our financial survival but that of the Western world, which is heavily dependent upon our stability.
