Ode to Plinio Correa de Oliveira

From a world darkened by sorrow and sin
God sought someone who would fight and win!
He reached down and touched the chosen one
His glorious beloved Brazilian son!

He asked His mother to care for the boy
Our Dona Lucilia’s great pride and joy
His mothers guided him from boy to man
Sustained him with love when his calv’ry began

In the steps of his Master firmly he trod
In spite of the jeers and bite of the rod
The man without faltering, took up his cross
Rejecting the world without fear of the loss

Of betrayal and loneliness much could he tell
Deserted and scorned by those he knew well
To this man of God all virtues were given
With courage and valour for his ideal he’s striven

Knight of his Queen, slave of the Mother
His humble thanks he gives to none other
Chaste man of God, to the Sacred Heart dear
He guides us, his children with faith crystal clear!

This article was written by the late Mrs. Kathleen Tuffin, a Tradition, Family and Property supporter in South Africa. She traveled to Brazil and met Prof. Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira in the eighties. The poem was found among her papers.
