Cites Need for Clarification

(December 5, 2000)

American TFP spokesman Preston Noell claimed clarification is needed on an interdisciplinary course on homosexuality to be offered at Villanova University near Philadelphia. In a statement to The Villanova Times, Mr. Noell noted "the academic niceties" of a course description on homosexuality at the Catholic university does little to allay his fears that "the traditional teaching of the Catholic Church will not be persuasively presented and defended when the course is given."

TFP Director calls for
Redoubled Efforts in
Disney Boycott

(December 1, 2000)

As Christmas approaches, director Robert Ritchie commented on the TFP's Disney boycott and called for redoubled efforts to keep up the pressure.

"Hundreds of thousands of instant impact flyers have already been distributed in English and Spanish," Mr. Ritchie said. "I would like to send out one million more. We think this effort is definitely having an effect."

Prays for Nation on
Pilgrimage to Quito

(November 2000)

A delegation of nine full-time volunteers of the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property (TFP) embarked on a pilgrimage to Quito, Ecuador. The object of the October 27 visit was to venerate the miraculous statue of Our Lady of Good Success and offer prayers for the Church, the American nation and the TFP movement.

Facts and Myths on the Amazon

(September 2000)

On September 20, Professor Everista de Miranda delivered a talk sponsored by the American TFP, at the National Press Club, Washington DC, to dispel the eco-myths about the Amazon Rainforest. A Doctor of Ecology, Prof. Miranda now teaches ecology at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is also head of the Planning Committee at the Embrapa Satellite Monitoring System.

Fight to Save
Traditional Marriage

(March 2000)

The American TFP worked hard to promote Prop 22, a proposition on the March 7 ballot, which guarantees that "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California," and to save California from the horrors of same-sex "marriage." The measure passed by a large margin.

Combatting "Civil Unions"
in Vermont

(March 2000)

Responding to efforts by the Vermont State Legislature to effectively grant homosexual couples the same benefits as married couples, the TFP launched a sweeping nationwide effort urging Americans to voice their protest. Thousands of protest leaflets were handed out on the sidewalks of New York City and 150,000 were mailed to the TFP's America Needs Fatima campaign members in Vermont and across the country.

In Defense of Pius XII

(February 2000)

Some 250 guests crowded Washington's Cosmos Club on February 16 at the American TFP-sponsored talk on Pius XII. Speaking was Italian Prof. Roberto de Mattei, president of the Rome-based Centro Culturale Lepanto. Professor de Mattei's aim was to refute the widespread allegations that Eugenio Cardinal Pacelli, the future Pope Pius XII, was actually an accomplice in Hitler rise to power by his alleged silence on Nazism and its horrors.

The American TFP launched its 21st Century Rosary Campaign aimed at offering hundreds of thousands of free rosaries. As part of its America Needs Fatima Campaign, the TFP sees Our Lady's help as absolutely necessary for the conversion of America.
