The Honorable Tom DeLay, Majority Leader Office
The Honorable Roy Blunt, House Majority Whip

Dear Congressmen,

The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP) would like to ask you, as members of the House Leadership, to do everything in your power to secure passage by the 2/3 majority needed of H. J. Res. 106, the Marriage Protection Amendment, whose text reads:

Marriage in the United States shall consist solely of the union of a man and a woman. Neither this Constitution, nor the Constitution of any State, shall be construed to require that marriage or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon any union other than the union of a man and a woman.

We must not allow some activist federal judges to redefine marriage in one fell swoop and impose “homosexual marriage” throughout the United States. For that reason, the American TFP has been engaged in a nationwide campaign to protect traditional marriage, including public campaigns both on college campuses as well as with the man in the street.

We look forward to continue working with you to protect marriage and our society, and thank you for your leadership and your concern for the future of America.

Sincerely,

Raymond E. Drake President
