Prayers

The hymn “Sub Tuum Praesidium” (Under thy protection) is the earliest prayer yet discovered to Our Lady, Mother of God. It was written in Greek on Egyptian papyrus and dates to approximately 250 AD. It is used to this day in many Catholic rites as well as religious congregations. It is a prayer also highly regarded by TFP members.

Here are a few short prayers (known as the “Fatima Prayers”) that came to be during the apparitions in Fatima, Portugal to the three seers Lúcia, Jacinta and Francisco. Two of the prayers were given by the Guardian Angel of Portugal, who came to prepare the three children for what they were about to see. The other three are from the subsequent apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima.

Prayer for Purity
Jesus, Lover of chastity, Mary, Mother most pure, and Saint Joseph, chaste guardian of the Virgin, to you I come at this hour, begging you to plead with God for me. I earnestly wish to be pure in thought, word and deed in imitation of your own holy purity...

saint_michael_archangel_1.jpg Saint Michael the Archangel, loyal champion of God and His Catholic people, I turn to thee with confidence and seek thy powerful intercession. For the love of God, Who hast made thee so glorious in grace and power, and for the love of the Mother of Jesus, the Queen of the Angels, be pleased to hear my prayer...

Act of Reparation to the Sacred HeartO Sacred Heart of Jesus, animated with a desire to repair the outrages unceasingly offered to Thee, we prostrate before Thy throne of mercy, and in the name of all mankind, pledge our love and fidelity to Thee.

Irresistible Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Why irresistible?
Because Our Lord Himself tells us how to ask for the graces we need, and, if it be for our greater sanctification, has promised to answer our request.

This prayer was found by a French general in the pocket of a soldier killed in action at Dien-Bien-Phu, Viet Nam.

Prayer to the Immaculate Conception
